Bridget Christie Minds the Gap is an all new Radio 4 series starting tonight at 11 pm dissecting the current state of British feminism.

When asked her expections of the show Christie said “I like to imagine that couples will listen to it in bed and then split up over something I’ve said. Not really. I hope I bring people together, if anything…”

She describes the moment she realised she was a feminist as something of an epiphany. It’s not every day someone’s life-turning event involves a man letting off wind in a bookstore but this was indeed the crucial moment in Christie’s life when she made the aforementioned discovery about herself. Surely that must have intrigued you and the whole story is told to hilarious effect with Fred MacAuley helping her remember some of the key events that resulted in here epiphany and a call to arms.

Christie has released a preview video for the show below which finds her in Newington Green, famous as the ‘birthplace of modern feminism’ due to its famous resident Mary Wollstonecraft, who established a girls school in the area.

You can find more details of the programme, which starts tonight, 7th March at 23:00 on the Radio 4 website.
