The Big Issue Foundation is a national charity with the objectives of connecting vendors with the essential support and solutions by which they will be able to rebuild their lives and find a way out of the void that is homelessness.
Each week alone sees the best part of 100 people turning to The Big Issue to help them help themselves when they find themselves at a point of utter personal crisis, and The Foundation endeavoursa to support 2,500 vendors all across the country. It is the vendors themselves that make the choice to buy their magazines with their own money and they must control their own finances and sales, all at the same time developing the important skills needed to sell the magazine to the general public. As a result, the foundation addresses the problem, giving homeless people a chance to ligitimately earn income. In short, The Big Issue is helping the homeless help themselves and get themselves off the streets.
The show is tonight, Monday 22nd April, from 8pm to 10:30pm at The Comedy Store, London.
