This weekend witnessed the first Grand National since the horsemeat scandal so not surprisingly Twitter was awash with Parker and Parker jokes…

Despite a mad Tsunami of Thatcher jokes today we felt it best to end with a simple tweet about a priceless news headline misprint.

Retweet After Me – 25/03/2013

Twitter is so addictive kids are starting to drop out of school to focus on it apparently. Lucky for us that means more funny tweets to choose from.

In the news this weekend, BBC Television Centre is closing its doors after all of 53 years, to be turned into a hotel, flats, a cinema and office space. Tweeps are going to miss the place by the sounds of it, or are they?

Finally, it’s been snowing again and Twitter has become the more than unseful weather app. Despite the bad weather @ParkBench has great tip get your car started, providing your partner is that way inclined of course.

February 18, 2013 |

Enough already with horsemeat and the Pope. This weekend we thought it best to take a total break from horses, the Pope as even Twitter is running out of material in those “fields”. Well…. almost. We’ve included on eabout a meteor and another about food ingredients but apart from we’ve gone out of our way to follow the completely random approach.

Retweet After Me – The Pope Can’t Cope

February 11, 2013 |

It’s time for our favourite tweets of the weekend which were pretty much jam-packed full of BAFTA and novel new horsemeat tweets. Normally we wouldn’t include Monday tweets but what with Ben giving up his bad habit at the end of the month we had to include a few #pope tweets. How happy must Tesco and Findus be today? Let tomorrow be renamed crispy pancake day!

In news this weekend we had nothing but Superbowl/Beyonce Tweets so we thought we’d “shake” things up by adding a few tweets about the sad news of the death of Andre Cassagnes, designer of the classic toy Etch A Sketch. We couldn’t help ourselves, sorry.

Retweet After Me – 28/01/2013

January 28, 2013 |

This weekend was host to two major sports events seeing both #AustralianOpen and #RoyalRumble trending on Twitter. Surprisingly there were absolutely no surprises in the latter event with The Rock taking home the WWE title whilst it would appear that even the commentators (Michael Cole the prime example here) also possess super human powers.

In entertainment news, the BBC received a shower of complaints for censorship of an episode of Fawlty Towers that contained racist comments. John Terry was the first to voice his outrage on Twitter swiftly followed by other celebrities who’s critical Tweets shot straight into Top Gear.

Last but not least, #horsemeat tweets are lasting just as long as the leftovers are in the bargain basement freezer in Tesco and Iceland.
