Not Going Out Series 6 Back on BBC ONE on Friday 5th April
LEE MACK, has had a busy couple of years, winning Best Male TV Comic British Comedy Award, whilst penning his own autobiography ‘Mack the Life‘. He also returned as resident team captain on the sixth series of ‘Would I Lie To You?’ (BBC ONE) and also co-hosted the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert live from Buckingham Palace (BBC ONE). After such a hectic couple of years he has managed to avoid a case of the old writer’s block and will be bringing his award-winning sitcom Not Going Out to the small screen again this April on BBC ONE for its sixth series. Once again penned by and starring Lee, the new series will relate the affairs of Lee and his more than tolerant landlady who he has an eternal crush on – Lucy (SALLY BRETTON, The Office, Green Wing) and bubbleheaded friend Daisy (KATY WIX, Torchwood, Outnumbered).
Although production is eager to keep lids on the new storyline, a few secrets have surfaced. Lee will be going out of his way to convince Lucy to spend a romantic weekend on his dad’s (BOBBY BALL) ‘stylish’ new boat despite her sheer fear of water. Lee will also be on the hunt for a new girlfriend simply in an attempt to provoke Lucy’s jealous gene. Meanwhile, Lucy’s first love will be making an appearance so we can expect Lee to come out all guns blazing.
The sixth series was recorded between 19 October and 7 December, 2012 at Teddington Studios and although Lee denied the rumours that a seventh series had been commissioned back in May 2012, when appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live, there’s still an inkling of hope yet.
All episodes of the previous five series are available here. We’ll leave you with Lee introducing his book ‘Mack The Life’.
